The Contour Peel™ by Medico Beauty is an innovative dermal remodelling technique that harnesses your skin’s natural healing abilities, resulting in a naturally, vibrant and healthy complexion.

As we age, we produce significantly less collagen and elastin, resulting in the ‘slippage’ in mature skin that looks loose and saggy. How is the Contour Peel™ by Medico Beauty different to other skin treatments?

The Contour Peel™ by Medico Beauty is a non-traumatic approach to healthier looking skin. The treatment uses an exclusive micro needling technique to enable optimal product absorption, resulting in greater benefits while dramatically decreasing discomfort.

Other dermal needling techniques can cause significant inflammation and promote the production of Type III Collagen, resulting in scar formation. These aggressive skin treatments may also cause pain and excessive Injury to the skin.

In contrast, the Contour Peel™ acts as a catalyst for change in the skin, helping to promote the skin’s normal healing process to address a wide variety of skin problems.

Is the Contour Peel™ right for me?

The Contour Peel™ has been designed with your comfort in mind and is suitable for a wide range of people. However, it is generally considered sensible to avoid the use of chemical peels if you:

Are pregnant and/or breastfeeding
Are allergic to aspirin
Have irritated, wounded, or sunburnt skin
Have active cold sores or warts in the treatment area
Have an autoimmune disease or immunocompromised condition
Are currently using medications that weaken immunity (such as steroids)
Are currently using or have used Accutane within the last year
Have recently undergone radiation treatment or chemotherapy.

The Contour Peel™ by Medico Beauty is safe for all types of skin, including darker skin and skin with problematic pigmentation (such as melasma).

If you have recently undergone a surgical procedure, laser treatment, or treatment using cosmetic fillers it is best to wait for any increased skin sensitivity to fully resolve prior to treatment with the Contour Peel™.

Is there anything I should or shouldn’t do prior to treatment?

In the two weeks prior to your Contour Peel™ you will be advised to discontinue use of products containing retinol, alpha hydroxyl acids (AHA), beta hydroxyl acids (BHA) or benzoyl peroxide, including prescribed topical medications such as Retin-A, differin and Tazorac. This is to minimise the risk of these products causing skin irritation and Post Inflammatory Pigmentation (PIH).

In the week before your Contour Peel™ you should avoid waxing, electrolysis, depilatory creams, and laser hair removal in the treatment area.

To help prepare your skin for the treatment and maximise your results, tou will be given a pre-conditioning skin kit prior to treatment. This carefully designed kit includes a special blend of active ingredients including a unique, encapsulated version of Retionl called LG Retinex and Retinol AGP Complex. These are safe to use up to the day prior to treatment.

What should I do after my Contour Peel™?

In the first few days after your treatment it is recommended that you use a skin kit that includes peptides and ingredients proven to boost the skin’s natural repair mechanisms. This kit will be available from your practitioner and helps you get the maximum benefit from your Contour Peel™.

The solutions used for the Contour Peel™ result in either very mild, or visible “micro peeling” on the third of fourth day, after which you should start to see your skin looking visibly brighter, vibrant, healthier, and more youthful.
